What is a Drivelines & Shafts Parts & Repairs service?
Lube Stop’s Drivelines & Shafts Parts & Repairs service is the repair or replacement of the driveline and shaft in your vehicle. These parts are used to help control the steering of your vehicle. Note that the driveline is a set of several parts including the driveshaft, axles, wheels, differentials, and joints. All of this is also commonly referred to as the drivetrain.
Lube Stop provides this service as needed. To determine if it is needed, we look for signs that the parts damaged or broken. Following that, Lube Stop also inspects for difficulty steering and clunking noises and vibrations. Should they be present, we recommend repairing the driveline and shaft. If the customer agrees and we are able to provide this service at our shop, then we proceed with the Drivelines & Shafts Parts & Repairs service. If we do not provide this service at your Lube Stop location, we will provide a recommendation and referral for the next steps you should take.
So, always bring any indicators of trouble to the attention of our Lube Stop technicians. These include signs of squealing, clunking, vibrations and difficulty steering the vehicle. From there, we will trouble shoot and determine if you need to repair your drivetrain.
We do all this so you can enjoy the benefits of a reliable steering system.
What are Drivelines & Shafts for?
The driveline is the part in your vehicle that pushes it forward or backward. It runs between the transmission and drive axles. It is responsible for transmitting the power that turns your wheels. Without a driveline, the power created in the engine would stop in the transmission and never turn the wheels. Your driveline establishes the connection from your transmission to your wheels.
The drive shaft is a component of the drivetrain that transfers torque from the transmission to the differential. This torque is then transmitted to the wheels in order to drive.
Without both the driveline and the shaft, your wheels would not turn and you would not be able to drive.

Context for these Services
Your vehicle uses an internal combustion engine. This engine uses the combustion of fuel to power almost everything. This is done when fuel alongside an air oxidizer and spark plugs creates a working fluid flow circuit inside a combustion chamber.
In your internal combustion engine, the expansion of the high-temperature and high-pressure gases produced by combustion applies direct force to some component of the engine. The force is applied typically to pistons, turbine blades, rotors and nozzles. This force moves the component over a distance, transforming chemical energy into useful work.
Typically, your combustion engine is fed with fossil fuels like natural gas or petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel fuel or fuel oil. Your engine is the hub for many things, including those listed below.
- combustion chamber
- cylinder head
- set of spark plugs
- rocker arms
- fuel injectors
- connecting rods
- engine block
- timing system
- timing chain
All these work in unison to power all the other systems within your vehicle. Without a fully functioning engine, everything else suffers. So, let us at Lube Stop keep your engine functioning and everything else that relies on it.
